This plan shows the Church Chare barracks (A) in relation to the Parish Centre (B) and the church (C). Other excavated remains include the commanding officer's house (praetorium - 1) and a granary (2). It can be seen from the plan that the fort 'faced' southwards (ie the main gateway, or porta praetoria, was in the southern side).
