Me
I am a writer, publisher, and archaeologist who has lived in various parts of what we circumloquaciously call the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I currently reside in a small corner of it called England (which will be nice when it's finished).

This is me and a
few friends, taken in Romania in 1987 on what was quaintly termed the Joint Expedition
to the Roman Provinces of the Danube (JERPD: covering over 7000
miles, we visited Hungary, Bulgaria,
Romania,
and Yugoslavia). The photo was taken at Sarmizegetusa Regia, capital of
the
Dacian King Decebalus; it can only be reached by off-road vehicle,
hence
the presence of Gertrude (gone but not forgotten). My illustrious
companions are

and Liviu
Petculescu.
